Balance does not end wars. Balance corrects.

Power grows faster than maturity — especially in the cyber layer.

Mechanics of imbalance
Balance holds until total catastrophe arrives. Omens: chaos, wars, terror, death, and the breakdown of structures. Critical point: the moment of annihilation.
▸ Symptoms
Social and political chaos, wars, terror, degraded bonds and institutions — these are not causes.
They are symptoms of a tilt that exceeds a civilization’s capacity to self-regulate.

The threshold is an event, not an endless process. At some moment, return becomes impossible.
Collapse follows — and a new Balance forms on the ruins.
▸ Ancient Cyber
Cyber existed before the previous Earth civilization — and before that one even earlier.
Remnants of that layer behave like the world’s memory. Astilus draws power from it without understanding
the mechanism.
▸ Kartolians & fire portals
The Kartolians could tame time through spacetime portals (of fire).
They lived on Astroeaters — massive cosmic beings resembling whales.
The knowledge faded. Will they return? The Chronicles remain silent.

Above everything — if they wanted. Once they destroyed civilizations that tilted too far.
Later they learned they could do nothing: imbalance collapses itself.
They are bored. They are divided. Their secrets belong only to them.
